Merry Christmas!

To everyone that reads this, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Please be sure to hug your family close. We lost a family member yesterday on Christmas Eve. My daughter's dad-in-law passed very suddenly.  He had been sick but was just being released from the hospital when this happened. 

I want to try to be more like Mary when the angel came to her.  Accept what is God's will for me. No question, just a follower of my Jesus! Thank you, Jesus, for all you have done for us and continue to do! Blessing to all!

My Christmas thought for today

 As I am trying to get some more presents wrapped for a second get together on Wednesday, I realized I don't have the right bags to use. 
This also made me realize that perhaps I need to put a lot more forethought into my gift giving. I want to be the type of wife, mother, friend and gama (gramma) that has some of her act together before Christmas! I really despise feeling frustrated a few days before the holidays and knowing I did it to myself! It isn't like I didn't know it was coming.  Sheesh I only had a year notice. Right!?!  I did make some of my gifts this year but I need to finish a few before Wednesday afternoon and before this weekend as we have two more get togethers. I am going to try to do a devotion every morning this week which could be interesting with two year old here at 6:45!  It is an excuse and I know it.  If you are reading this blog, feel free to comment and keep me accountable any day of this coming year!

Trying something new here!

Ok, so here it is. I am going to try something new by working on my blog with the help of friends, family and prayers!  I normally would make up some excuse for why I don't need to be on here but now I am done with excuses! 

We currently have a two hour delay for a bit of snow, so I decided this is a great time to work on a few Christmas presents. I need to get some banana bread in the oven so it can cook for almost an hour while I get ready for school. I am done stressing out about gifts not getting done because I realized that we are having three different Christmases! This means I have a day or so in between to keep working on projects for the next get together. Woohoo!

I am putting this out there because I know I am not the only who struggles with this...prayers requested for me to do my daily devotions! I have been trying to do them on a really regular basis but fail on a regular basis also. I recently talked to someone who has started going to church on a regular basis and they are doing their quiet time every morning!! Talk about pressure. Seriously tho, this was the kick in the butt that I needed.  I have signed up for a 21 day challenge email which I hope will help. 

I am going to try to post some updated crafts as I work on them, perhaps some yummy recipes and just the thought for that day. Please keep me in your prayers and feel free to keep me accountable!
