Thelma and Louise--our way!

Recently I had the privilege of taking a friend out to Ohio for a medical trip. The doctors in our area really aren't comfortable dealing with the issues that she has but the surgeons we talked to at the University of Ohio will! This was  a seven hour trip for us from our little corner of the world. This is one way!  We had so many prayer warriors praying for us, even in their slow time at work (thanks Shirley!).

Along the way, we passed many places that looked like these two spots.  Ohio had just had six inches of snow the day before we got there, so we were feeling very blessed with a blast of cold and wind. No snow, no ice. Well except in the parking lots. Friday morning as we had breakfast at our motel. We chatted a little with the man who was keeping the food area full. Very nice man and I am sorry to say, we didn't get his name.  I mentioned that we were in the area for medical reasons, and that if he thought about us through the day, to please pray. His comment? "Of course, sister!"
Our driving time both on the way out and on the way home, was very uneventful, which is a good thing! My dear friend, Fran, was kind enough to take most of these pictures while I drove. Hmmm perhaps I should have posted all the ones she took of her lap and my dashboard! She isn't used to using the kind of phone camera I have. Traveling at seventy miles an hour while a lot of tractor trailers are passing you makes you realize who blessed you are to have people praying for you.
Soon after leaving Ohio, she fell asleep due to the pain in her back and from the stress of why we were traveling.  I happened to see a red truck pass on my left and realized as I read the side of the tractor, that it was a company that is a half of a block from her house! When Fran woke up, I told her about it and of course we laughed about the odds.  I did comment that it would be funny if we both pulled into the same rest area.  Guess what! We did!! I pulled into the rest area to get gas. When I went to get my change, I realized there was a man walking away from the building with a this company's logo on the back.  I certainly couldn't pass up the chance to say hello to a neighbor, even if we had never met yet!  I yelled out to him, "excuse me, excuse me!"  He turned around, looked at me and said, "I didn't do it."  How's that for a sense of humor. I told him he actually did. Informing him of the fact that she and I both live very close to a certain restaurant, he said "NO WAY!"  We both laughed when we thought about the odds of this happening.  Fran and I both figured he went back to the shop and told everyone!

To those of you who were praying for this trip, thank you! For those of you who will be praying for her next trip, which will be for surgery, thank you!
Mostly, she and I would both thank Jesus for his faithfulness to his children.

Prayers for today--update

March 11, 2014 I woke up this morning feeling grumpy and out of sorts. I didn't sleep much due to a hubby with a head cold. Blahhh can I hit the dislike button on these! Self-pity was also threatening to hit today. God has an amazing sense of timing! Being bluntly honest, I was feeling sorry for myself because of a thought that came around three a.m.! Satan is such a yucky "person" at that stage of sleep and thinking. Anyway, my self-doubt was about my closest friends and realizing that I couldn't honestly say who I would be able to call and just go have lunch with, as in the spur of the moment! How sad to think that way. I couldn't help wonder if I should have my ladies Bible study group pray about it for me tonight! Ha! As I said, God's timing is amazing. I just received a phone call from a friend who has major health issues, who is wondering how she can deal with this much longer, and should she go to the emergency room! She is a cancer survivor, by the way. She does have an appt., with a dr. in another state next week, which if plans stay the way they are for her, I will be taking her out. How is that for having something put into perspective! Wow, talk about feeling a little ridiculous about my lunch date. March 12, 2014 My friend went into our local hospital yesterday, and was kept for observation. They told her to get to her appointment in Ohio as quickly as possible. We leave for Ohio tomorrow and as of mow I will be the only driver. it is at least a seven hour drive with no pit stops and good traffic! I will be coming home on Friday by myself unless God provides me with a lady friend to keep me company! Ok so, all I ask is if you read this you pray for our trip, for travel safety and mostly for her and her doctors! A major surgery is in her near future! Thanks and God bless!

Redo!

So this setup might look a little dopey but it works.  We had the sink for our oldest daughter, and I guess we must have put it away because our younger daughter said she doesn't remember it at all!  It was put in storage under our basement steps. There is a wall that hides most of that underspace and that is where this story starts.  I walked past this area and found a pink carriage that our grand daughter is having a great time with!  Cleaned that and the sink up for her.

The white wicker piece I just got free from a thrift shop and the table I had sitting on our deck. It was being used for flowers to sit on.  The legs are rusting so I wanted to save it and now here is a great chance to do so.  I got the table from my old elementary school when they closed!

I plan on painting the wicker and the table a nice purple when the weather gets warmer. The spray paint says it has has to be fifty degrees. Well, that isn't happening anytime soon!!! The paint also is for metal, wood, plastic and wicker!  YAY for this paint!   I will post pictures of the finished projects later!
